All the modern Hanukah CDs sound the same --- overproduced, with synth string orchestras, cloying kids choirs, and chazzanim who think they're Pavarotti.
Which is why it's a pleasure to bring out the MP3s a friend made for me two years ago from my vinyl copy of Chanukah Songs for Children by Shimon and Ilana Gewirtz and their two daughters. It's like a simple Chanukiyah in the window, shedding its small, pure light into the darkness.
