I found the recap highly entertaining, even though it was the first time I'd seen any of the puzzles. :-)

Most importantly, it was nice to meet in person several people whom I know only by nom, lj username, or AIM login. (Some of you I met at the Boston Con 2.5 years ago, but since that was my first NPL experience I was overwhelmed and didn't have mental slots for each of you yet.)

Initially, I was invited to tag along with the post-recap dinner plans of several members of Dr. Awkward, but it became clear that their dinner was going to be with the Bombers and they might start planning for next year. As it was getting late and I wouldn't be able to eat anything anyway, I headed home.

I hadn't asked to join anyone's team this year because I didn't want to be the pathetic geek sitting on the sidelines while the alpha jocks picked up sides (an experience that I'm sure none of you can relate to :-) and I wasn't sure what the etiquette is for trying to join a team -- it seems from previous years' comments that there's sometimes a bit of social politicking involved -- but I was encouraged by several folks to be a bit less of a wallflower, so:

Please think of me when assembling your teams for next year. I can't show up until 6pm Saturday, but I'll still be well-rested then!
