So [livejournal.com profile] introverte and I now own an elliptical trainer. Turns out I'm in as bad shape as I thought. Saturday night was my first attempt; I lasted about eight minutes. Last night I paced myself a bit better and lasted 20 minutes, although that was only one mile at the second-easiest level.

But it's a start. And having it right there near the bed, staring at me, means that I have a decent shot at keeping at it, as opposed to all the other times I've tried to add an exercise regimen to my life, when I've not had time to get to the JCC or go for an afternoon power walk around the Longfellow/Museum of Science loop. I might even join [livejournal.com profile] rawr_comm for the motivation.

I create separate email addresses for each company with which I do business. I just received one of those "postcard" virus spam messages sent to the address that I use for Borders Books. Since I never expose that address except to the nice folks behind the register at Borders, one must deduce that the Borders database of customer email addresses (at least) has been compromised.

I have sent an email message to Borders reporting this. I will post updates as I learn more.

(ETA: Just got a second one at 1:10pm. Getting ready to deep-six the address. Pity.)
