Chocolate!

Our neighbors across the street (the ones we love who are moving to Atlanta) had a scotch-and/or-chocolate party tonight. Every guest had to bring either a bottle of scotch for everyone to try or a chocolate dessert. Guess which we brought. (Hint: I confirmed tonight that I cannot stand even the smallest sip of scotch.)

I made molten chocolate babycakes from a recipe that ran in the NYT last December (Archived, requires TimesSelect to access). Wow --- they came out exactly as I had hoped. Better than the warm chocolate cake at Le Marais in New York. (Of course, theirs is pareve and I got to use butter.) I may post a paraphrase of the recipe soon (gotta respect the Times's copyright, of course) for those who don't have TimesSelect.

[livejournal.com profile] introverte made her three-mousse torte, which she's made before to general acclaim. It was equally successful tonight. (I think she's already made that recipe available to those who've asked in the past.)

Glad your contributions were successful! I would be interested in the recipes, if & when you're able to share.

Now I'm hungry! These sound absolutely wonderful. I'm glad they came out well.
