Happy fifth birthday, MITG&SP!

rhuTwenty years ago tonight, after the late showing of the LSC movie, the founding board of the MIT G&S Players gathered in 26-100 (while we were doing post-movie cleanup) to formally adopt our bylaws and found a group that we expected would survive for a year or two.
(We selected the date so that on the off chance that the Players would make it past two decades then there could be a twenty-first anniversary performance of The Pirates of Penzance. Boy, were we geeks!)
Since tonight is Shabbat, I sadly cannot join MITG&SP in person for the quadrennial birthday party. But I am proud to have created something that has brought joy to so many people, spawned several marriages, and increased the amount of beauty in this world.
