Weekend recap
Jun. 1st, 2008 11:43 pm* Walked to a brit milah on Shabbat afternoon. Although the walk was 2.2 miles each way, the kids held up very well. The brit milah was beautiful. (Rabbi Meara officiated.) The rain stayed elsewhere. It was wonderful.
* Enjoyed the Noah Webster puzzles in today's Times.
* Went to the "Israel 60" festival at the Gann campus this afternoon. Really well-run, the kids had a blast. (Not-so-good thing: Neturei Karta was protesting out front, and I had to explain that to Tani.)
* Went to Belmont Wheelworks and took a Trek 7200 for a test-ride. The store was very busy and I wasn't able to get all my questions answered; I plan to return later this week.
* Cut up three dead azalea bushes in our backyard. They've been there since before we bought the house and brightened our springs. Some of the other bushes nearby are also starting to die --- some andromedas and some rhododendrons --- so I'm a little worried about whether it's a disease or blight and whether it's spreading. I'm going to have to go back and make sure I've gotten all the dead wood out of there, and keep an eye on it. And next year we'll have to plant new azaleas.
* Missed my first Zamir season finale concert since I joined in the fall of '92. That doesn't depress me. The fact that it doesn't depress me saddens me.
