I met Dom Deluise a few times over the past decade, always at events where The Vantastix also performed. As he had trouble walking he would stand up and do his "performance" from his table in the middle of the banquet hall with a wireless microphone. He was absolutely hilarious.
I have somewhere a letter he wrote to us thanking us for our performance and giving us some pointers. I should dig it out... He was as warm and sincere, and as nice a guy as you'd want to meet.
