Book review
Aug. 6th, 2009 10:21 pmI recently took out The Subversive Copy Editor: Advice from Chicago by Carol Saller from the library. I enjoyed it very much --- it's a fairly slim volume that is filled with good advice and humor. As a library book, I recommend it highly; but I wouldn't buy it myself because it's not a book I'd return to again and again.
Saller's book is basically a sane way to do things, based on her experiences working at and answering questions on behalf of the Chicago Manual of Style. It's for both editors and writers, and as someone who has been on both sides of that relationship, I found myself repeatedly muttering "yes!"
