Siddur update and question
Aug. 13th, 2009 09:17 pmSo I've taken care of arranging copyright clearances on the two passages that I copied from contemporary sources.
I'm a little ticked that one source is charging me $50 for the rights to a brief excerpt, but that's their privilege.
I'm amused that the Rabbinical Council of America (Orthodox) didn't know that the text I asked them for was theirs; they suggested I ask the Rabbinical Assembly (Conservative) until I pointed it out to them on their own website. Then they gave me permission for free.
I've got a "punch list" of about 40 items before I'm ready to produce a proofreading run.
My biggest problem right now is that I've got about a half page between שירת הים and נשמת and no idea what to put there. (What I have there now is ugly and not useful.) I considered (1) laws of how to catch up if you show up late, (2) laws of compensating if you say the wrong thing, (3) laws of when during שמע ובירכותה one is permitted to interrupt. And none of those feel right. I'm wide open to suggestions.
