Stamford?

Stamford is clearly a nogo, since I wouldn't be able to participate. (If the Brooklyn rumors are true, maybe next year I can pop by Saturday night to socialize.)

I considered doing the "play at home" thing, but then I realized: $20 would buy two entire books full of crosswords. And I have no need to find out how I'd rank under pseudo-tournament conditions. And I don't even have time to keep up with my existing crossword diet.

But here's a question: What's the protocol on unofficial puzzles? You may recall that I had submitted a puzzle that Willz rejected but suggested bringing to MichiCon (which I'm also not going to be able to attend). Would it be bad form to send a stack of copies of it with someone to Stamford instead? I'd describe it as a Thursday --- it's a straight (i.e., non-cryptic) crossword with a twist.
