Thoughts on today's NYT puzzles
Mar. 11th, 2007 08:44 pmNice puzzle, Eric
ericberlinblog. Thanks for making my name be the theme on my birthday, but for next year, please note that it's spelled "Greene." :-)
The green clues were a nice touch, although was there a reason that two of the ones that look like they should have been printed in green weren't?
Speaking of the puzzle page typography, someone please tell me that the grid on Patrick Berry's opus was supposed to be retypeset but they accidentally ran the wrong version. That was painful to look at --- although fun to solve, even if the final answer jumped off the page before one had even had a chance to start reading the clues. :-)
Eagerly awaiting
toonhead_npl's typographical debut tomorrow....

I nearly had a cow when I saw that Berry grid. It looked like someone ran it out on an old ImageWriter.
Re tomorrow: Actually one of the original problems apparently has been caught and fixed in post-production for a while now. (I checked when I bought the paper Saturday.)
