They're planning a remake of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three?

With John Travolta and Denzel Washington?

Why?

Because it's a terrorism movie and therefore "modern" and "relevant"?

Because they got it right the first time!

Or, maybe because today, one actually CAN hijack a subway train to Cuba.

Yeah, yeah, and they're going to ruin it because of that.

It's a subway movie, dammit!

Maybe this one will be truer to life and include the homeless panhandler with her 3-year-old, the guy from United Homeless saying the commuters are the organization's only income (even though it's illegal to panhandle on the subway), the bongo drumming panhandlers who disingenuously apologize afterward "if we bothered anybody," and the screaming preacher who doesn't stop talking about Jesus vs. the fires of hell unless guns or police are within view.

The question is who will be the good and bad guys?

If Denzel is the terrorist, will people say the movie is racist?

and yet Denzel turns deviousness and evil into Oscar gold. Note "Training Day".
