abbasegal reminded me, here's a quick simplified notation of my melody for Psalm 136, which is part of the traditional seder text but for which most people lack a catchy tune. If I have time before Pesach I might notate all the verses, since the syllabification isn't always obvious.

Date: 2008-04-15 11:19 pm (UTC)I hadn't realized the last "Ki leolam chasdo" was "Havanaised"* -- in practice I can almost guarantee that we'll bounce the rhythm quarter-eighth there like in the other places it appears. I hope that won't insult the composer.
* Havanaise by Saint-Saens is a lovely piece for violin and orchestra, whose main rhythmical motif is a triplet group followed by a duplet group, like in the penultimate measure of the phrase posted.
