NYTimes applet... getting better

Still frustrated by some poor UI decisions on the part of the applet designers --- what I'd prefer is the "current clue" on top (regardless of whether I was solving across or down), followed by the "next" clue (so you can think about clue B while typing the answer to clue A) and then the crossing clues underneath (For example, for 45A in today's puzzle the crossing clues are, in order, 40D 46D 30D 31D 35D). That makes it faster to check one's answer without taking one's hands off the keyboard.

For Tani's end-of-year school project ("?מי אני -- Who Am I?") the parents are also required to submit a page. We decided to draw a picture of our son using the letters of his Hebrew name. Although it doesn't look exceedingly much like him, I'm pleased with the results.

You may recall my griping about somone in Tani's class whose family was less than considerate about strep contagion. On the other hand, tonight's email brought this from one of the other parents:

While M*** has not been diagnosed with strep or even shown likely symptoms, her sister L*** and I have both been felled... so we started M*** on medication today and she'll be out tomorrow just in case.
