I'd like to do another round of recording sessions this summer. In particular, I've been working on setting the introductory Psalms for the Friday night service. This setting is for SSATBB
a cappella, a much more realistic group than my
Pesukei d'Zimrah setting (which calls for a full orchestra and chorus).
Behind the cut you'll find three embedded PDF files with the scores to three of the movements and links to MP3s of the computer performing on piano. A fourth movement should be forthcoming (fourthcoming?) this week.
The plan is to get a group of interested people to agree to learn their parts on their own, and then on four separate evenings over the summer we'd meet at my house, rehearse a particular movement for an hour or so, and then record it (over several takes). So if you can only make (or are only interested in) some of the sessions, that's cool.
Knowledge of Hebrew not necessary; music is transliterated. If you can sing Italian, you can sing this. Ability to sing well and learn your part independently is important.
( Interested? )ETA: Please use
this form to indicate that you're interested and to tell me when you're available.
And please spread the word to others who might be interested.
Thanks!
