Looks like LinkedIn got slashdotted by the New York Times. There was a positive article was above the fold on the front page of the Business Day section of today's dead-tree edition. I was trying to check on whether a friend works at Navic, and got a "site unavailable" message.

I've been meaning to email the folks at LinkedIn to suggest a middle pricing scheme with some benefits. I'd be happy to pay something like $20 per year to support the site, but not $20 per month.
