Am tired. Desperately want coffee to awaken the synapses. But Sunday is Tisha b'Av and I'm trying to get decaffeinated before then. Should I give in?

Give in; it shouldn't take *that* long to get decaffed, right?

If you listen to recorded music during the 9 days, that might help. Otherwise, maybe a brisk walk and some herbal tea (I'm having some right now).

Don't do it!

My husband used to have so much trouble fasting, until about ten years ago. It was then that he adopted the strategy of quitting caffeine on Rosh Chodesh Tamuz, and staying that way until motzei Yom Kippur. He fasts more easily than I do, due to this method.

Of course, by Shmini Atzeret he's back up to a pot a day.
