Here in my part of Washington State, they have done away with Voting in person. It's all done by mail. We get a ballot in the mail, which we fill out, place in a security envelope, which is placed into another, special envelope that has a place for your signature and date.

They then compare your signature, electronically, and place your security envelope into the pile.

At another station, those are opened and the ballot is fed into the computerized ballot reader.

I miss going to the Polls and seeing the same "old" faces of the prescient volunteers, smoozing, gabbing and stopping for a Late' on my way home! :)
