Young solver
Nov. 23rd, 2007 02:32 pmThis morning the kids decided to role-reverse with us. I said, "OK, Abba, I'll go fetch your newspaper now!" and Tani called out "Don't do my crossword puzzle!" So when I brought the paper in I opened the Weekend section to the puzzle and put it next to his cereal bowl. (I had printed out the puzzle and solved it last night.)
To my surprise, he grabbed a pen, started sounding out the clues, and wrote in a couple of answers. They're very neatly printed, and reasonable guesses for his age. For 1-A, {Bit of income for the Department of Motor Vehicles} (10), he said "It probably starts with CARS" and wrote that in. For 11-A, {Waist products}, he wrote in LITR and said "Waste products are what you throw out and if you throw it in the wrong place it's litter." At that point he kinda lost interest and went off to do other things.
Watch out,
rpipuzzleguy, he's coming after your record.... :-)
