Last week, I received a message (via a comment on this blog) asking for permission to use my humorous depiction of page 7b from tractate Megillah as a label on mishloach manot (gifts of food exchanged with friends on Purim). I gladly gave permission, and my correspondent asked for my snail-mail address so he could send me a token of thanks "in the spirit of mishloach manot." I expected a couple of hamentaschen.

I was pleasantly shocked to receive a copy of his book, Days of Celebration, Days of Inspiration: The Festivals in Our Lives, a delightful volume of insights into the holy days of the Jewish calendar. We read the section on Purim with the kids at our Shabbat table, and learned some new perspectives on the holiday. With thanks to Rabbi Prero, I recommend this book.

Thanks!

Heh, I was on my way out the door and I couldn't even remember your nom. Not exactly anyway. I just kept going back through the blogs until I saw the AM wave.

My pleasure!
