On Saturday's NYT puzzle
Apr. 23rd, 2007 03:41 pmBy now, you must have heard that Saturday
The puzzle in the Times had "attitude."
A Byron Walden opus, cruelly clued,
A fiendish cruciverbal foe, they say.
Forewarned, I ventured 'gainst it not alone.
I asked my life-love,
introverte the sweet,
To join me in an effort to defeat
The challenge; to pick up the gauntlet thrown.
Ideas flew back and forth; our minds as one
Did venture guesses, flights of fancy try,
Until the Truth blazed forth and all was done:
By minute forty-five the quest was won.
Too long 'tis been since last my wife and I
Have had a chance to co-solve thus. 'Twas fun.
