introverte and I watched Everything is Illuminated. As many of you know, I don't enjoy movies very much; this engrossing film was worth the time to watch. (The first act had me doubtful, but its apparent shortcomings were necessary to establish the later two-thirds of the film.) I have reserved the book from the library, as I understand that there's an entire second plot that was absent from the film.

Date: 2007-07-17 01:18 am (UTC)His other book, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, is on my list of favorites, though. Not everyone is ready for it, but I really enjoyed the way the story is laid out.
