I'm planning to start developing a series of essays on "What I Believe" --- I know, not the most original subject, but I feel the need to clarify my own thoughts by writing them out, and who knows? I may actually be able to contribute a unique perspective to the cacophony of voices out there.

In any case, I am certain that the finished product would be vastly improved by my posting thoughts even when they are only half-baked, and subjecting them to the thoughtful and penetrating criticism of my friends. On the other hand, I am certain that many of you who read this blog really aren't interested in my rough drafts.

So: who wants to be on the "Andrew blabbers about belief structures" friends-list?

OK. I'll even promise not to use the word "heretic" -- too often. :-)

I'd be happy to read your thoughts, but depending on the hour I may not be able to offer deep insights in return.

I like reading other people's introspections (especially when I know them). Count me in!

Yes, definitely. I always encourage the sharing of half-baked ideas; if we all use our heat vision together, we can fully bake them much faster, and maybe even get the crust to a nice golden brown.

I prefer to eat my ideas while they're still raw and bleeding.

Don't ideas need to be soaked and salted?

Are you going to post your utility-maximization theory of Why Bad Things Happen To Good People And Vice Versa?

That will be one of the essays, yes.
