Mastermind
Dec. 19th, 2007 07:08 pmI introduced the kids to the classic game of Mastermind tonight. It brought back fond memories of playing on the big table at the games department of Fortunoff's as a kid. I've Googled without success for a picture or even a description of the big table version --- it was the size of a foosball table, I guess, with half-spheres for the pegs: the colored ones were about the size of grapefruits and the scoring ones about the size of oranges. It was mostly used as a sales demo attention-gatherer --- if I recall correctly, you could buy it for about $1,000 but they really expected you to buy the regular edition with the Orson-Welles-like spy on the cover.
