Friends IRL know that I've often wished that Fortunoff would open a store up here in Massachusetts. According to an article in today's Times F is near bankruptcy but may be taken over by Lord and Taylor. If so, in an unusual arrangement, L&T is apparently likely to have F operate the jewelry department in every L&T store. Since F's jewelry department is one of the things I miss most about NY (I always felt that they were providing quality merchandise at a fair price), this might end up being a good thing.

That reminds me I got a watch from Fortunoff's as a gift which is way too big and needs to be resized. It's no longer ticking so the battery must be dead. This is not surprising since the watch was a present for my 40th birthday. It's way past warranty, but I'd pay to get it working.

The thousand injuries of Fortunoff's I had borne as best I could. But when he ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge.

No, wait...
