This amused me. The top two entries in my friends page this morning were two variants of a single meme which I had never seen before but which seems to have already split into two species, A and B.

I've just released minor updates to two of my programs for Windows Mobile:

  • My crossword program now highlights squares that are supposed to be highlighted (because today's NYSun puzzle uses them).
  • My PIM (personal information manager) now supports rudimentary contact info editing and condenses Notes and Tasks into a single view.

So as I understand it, the so-called groundbreaking law passed this week here in Massachusetts is a triumph for insurance companies and politicians. I don't see how it helps the uninsured.

So congratulations to Presidentialcandidate (formerly known as Governor) Romney and the Great and General Court for getting adulatory press for "providing universal coverage" by imposing an unfunded mandate on the individual citizen.

After all, if it's illegal to be uninsured, only criminals will lack health coverage.
