The Supreme Court ruled this morning that the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to George W. Bush "for effecting a peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy in Iraq."

Injustice Sam Alito added, "Norwegian is as hard to understand as butterfly ballots. The way I read the committee's citation, it clearly says 'Geor', not 'Gore'."

Ann Coulter, blah blah

The NYTimes blogs about Ann Coulter today. Apparently, she said "we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say.... That's what Christianity is." And lots of people are getting upset about this.

Forgive me for failing to be upset. That sounds like a pretty fair summary of supersessionism, which is one of the basic tenets of Christianity. Yawn. I'm no more offended by Ann Coulter spouting such nonsense than I am by some of the patronizing statements that have come out of the Vatican since Nostra Aetate.

Tani has been learning about "short a" in school, and he's been asking me for a while to make a crossword puzzle for him. I think he may actually finally be ready to do one. So I've assembled a puzzle of "short a" words, with a gimmick. If you want to testsolve, or if you're easily amused, I've posted it to my website.
