Friends IRL know that I've often wished that Fortunoff would open a store up here in Massachusetts. According to an article in today's Times F is near bankruptcy but may be taken over by Lord and Taylor. If so, in an unusual arrangement, L&T is apparently likely to have F operate the jewelry department in every L&T store. Since F's jewelry department is one of the things I miss most about NY (I always felt that they were providing quality merchandise at a fair price), this might end up being a good thing.

I came home tonight to find that the kids had a surprise for me. There were Post-Its® with arrows directing me from one to the next, and words on each that taken in the right order made up a message.

"It's a runaround, Abba!"
