Today we headed back into Jerusalem for one last day of sightseeing.

First of all, I promised you all a better shot of this pizza joint's sign:

We parked by Jaffa Gate and headed through the Old City to our first stop, which was the Wohl Archaeological Museum of the Herodian Mansions. On the way, one person we passed called out to me, "There's no need to rush, sir, the Messiah is already here!"

I didn't tarry to find out if he meant Shabbatai Tzvi or someone else.

• At Masada, we bought pre-packaged sandwiches for lunch. Mine had ink-jet-printed on the wrapper, next to the date, "The vegetables are heter mechirah" (in Hebrew, of course). The things you don't think about before you get here. [Basically, the year that just ended a few months ago was a Sabbatical year, and heter mechirah is one of the ways to get kosher vegetables during a Sabbatical year.]

• You may recall that I bought an MSI Wind netbook before the trip; it's what I've been using for this blogging and photo uploading, and it has lived up to expectations. In one of the stores we were in today, I noticed that the owner had the same model, except that (of course) hers has Hebrew-English keycaps on the keyboard. I'm jealous. (Yes, I know they make stickers, but I don't like their feel; and I'm not going to add a USB keyboard to a netbook; that would be silly.)
