Holiday wrapup
Oct. 22nd, 2008 08:19 pmShemini Atzeret was nice. My Geshem went pretty well, and then it rained. :-)
Simchat Torah --- well, let's just say that as proud as I am of our community, and as much as I enjoy our services the rest of the year, our Simchat Torah celebration pretty much doesn't work for me. It's mostly shouting rather than singing, and shuffling (or pushing past the people standing around and talking) rather than dancing, and it just doesn't make me feel filled with happiness. *sigh*
Of course, as
introverte says, once you've spent your college years celebrating Simchat Torah at the Tremont Street Shul (
tremontshul), nothing else will ever compare. (At least, back when Rabbis Shevitz and Waldocks were running the show. I hear it's still great, but I can't vouch for it personally.)
Anyway, once I'm caught up, that's it for this season. Let's see, there are a bunch of puzzles I need to catch up on....
