I miss WEVD
Nov. 26th, 2008 03:27 pmHe played everything: klezmer, Yiddish theatre, chazzanut, Israeli pop, spoofs (oy, how I loved the Rechnitzer Rejects albums!) [Unlike, say, WERS, which has a Yiddish block followed by an Israeli block on Sunday mornings; or at least, they did 20 years ago.]
I miss this for my own enjoyment; I miss this for the broadening of my musical horizons; and most of all, I miss having this available for my kids.
So, LJ friends, do you know of any "internet radio stations" that play such an eclectic mix of "Jewish" music? Where are the Art Raymonds of today?
ETA: I've found YidLive which so far sounds promising. Not as broad as WEVD was, but not that insufferable electrochassidipop.
