Two observations about today's NYT puzzle

After spending the day cleaning for Passover, why is it that the final clue that I got was {Square meal component?} = MATZOH ?

And if it weren't for their stupid billboards, which I always mis-parse, I wouldn't have gotten 6D. The most memorable such billboard depicts a family skiing, including the kids, and the caption is "Watch them GRŌKEMO," which I know is supposed to be "Watch them Grow" but which I always parse as "Watch them Grok Emo" --- a perfectly reasonable sentence these days.
