When I was five, I flew from Providence to Martha's Vineyard to visit my grandparents. The plane I was on was scheduled to fly to Boston after the Vineyard, and the stewardess who was assigned to take care of me got it into her head that I was going to Boston, in spite of the fact that I told her repeatedly I was going to the Vineyard. When we landed on the Vineyard, the stewardess instructed me to stay in my seat. Luckily, those were the days when non-passengers were still allowed out on the tarmac, so Grandma just climbed right up into the plane and called my name until I answered.
