For those who don't usually do Merl Reagle's Sunday Crosswords, or even for those who don't often do crossword puzzles at all, allow me to strongly recommend Merl's instant classics from last week and this week. Do them in order, and do them from the top to the bottom.

I... hmm. Maybe I'm missing something about the artfulness of the creation process, but I didn't find these especially memorable in the doing. Or maybe it was just that a ringing endorsement from you set my expectations somewhere up higher than they needed to be. :-}

The idea of using a pair of puzzles as an episodic narrative hasn't been done, and the final across/down pairing was particularly clever.

Finally got around to doing these. Are these typical for Sunday crosswords? I thought they were supposed to be impossible for mere mortals, but I didn't have too much problem finishing them—easier than Games 3-star crosswords. Maybe I'm better than I thought.

These were a little on the easy side.

In general, Sundays are not the hardest -- those are Saturdays. Sundays are generally large mid-week puzzles.
