Latitude and Longitude
Jun. 18th, 2010 10:43 amTwo thoughts:
1. My Google-fu has abandoned me. What's the median latitude of Earth's land masses?
2. How fortunate we are that the people who "invented" longitude lived halfway around the world from the middle of the largest ocean. If it had been Moscow, Alaska would be on the other side of the 180th; if it had been Beijing, the line would bisect Brazil. And if it were MIT, then Russia and China would be split.
