• Noting that, because the A/C in the new Shaarei Tefillah building has caused many of the women to start wearing shawls: "We should call it Shawl-ay Tefillah!"

• In the car the other day, when I had digressed for too long on side subjects, she shouted "Goofy!" I queried, "Goofy?" --- had something I'd said reminded her of the Disney dog, or was she commenting on something silly I'd inadvertently said? She persisted: "Goofy! You know, in the Talmud, when they've gotten off the subject and someone says 'Go back to the main subject!' Goofy!" (The word she wanted was "Goofah".)
