So I get to the bakery ten minutes after they open to buy our special challahs for Rosh ha-Shanah, and the line is already way out the door. No problem, I was expecting this, I brought the Times. I open to the puzzle, pull out my pen, and look at 1-Across.
"How odd," I think, "It's the same clue as yesterday."
Then I realize that it's a production error. They reran
stellavision's puzzle from yesterday.
I briefly considered whipping through the entire puzzle in two minutes just to impress the others waiting on line. :-) Then I realized that would be rude. So I simply read the paper.
But now I'm going to have to catch up on three time-consuming puzzles after the holiday, instead of just two. Unless the Times allows the general public to download today's puzzle because of the production error.
