So my siddur project -- typesetting my own edition of the standard Jewish prayer book -- is almost near the "beta" milestone, and I need to pick a title. While I undertook this project for my own personal use, enough other people have asked me about it at shul (I guess I'm a little obvious davenning out of a three-ring binder) and expressed interest in seeing it when I'm ready to share that I think I should have a real title soon.

My working title has been Siddur Hiddur Tefillah ("The Prayer Book of Making Prayers More Beautiful," if you'll permit an awkward translation) but I'm not sure if I like it.

I'm open to other suggestions.

Here's what I've been striving for:

* Beautiful typography
* Use of taamei hamiqra (cantillation marks) on all biblical verses
* Use of distinguishing symbols for qamatz qatan and sh'va na
* Including nusach "cues" in standard western musical notation
* Certain textual variants that I use
* Trimming extraneous repetition and awkward page jumps

I'm also open to titles that pun on my name, which is Aryeh, and I'm partial to apt Biblical allusions.

How about something along the lines of
סידור למנצח? Or סידור מזמור למנצח or סידור שיר למנצח?
Or סידור למנצח מזמור?

Sidur (Shir/Mizmor/various combinations) lamenatzeach, or siddur for the conductor -- a reference to the psalms that begin that way, but also indicating that it is geared for a Shalizh Tzibur (which, by a strech, could be מנצח).

Just my Chetzi Shekel...
