An idea for Evil Midnight to consider for next year... it might be interesting for statistical purposes only to allow teams to indicate, without penalty, when they click "check answer" whether they front-solved or back-solved the puzzle. Otherwise, one could end up with a statistic that, say, ten teams "solved" puzzle X when actually none of them could make any headway into it, but its meta made it backsolvable.
