...but I think NBC changed the chord on the second downbeat of the old Olympics fanfare (not the John Williams one) from I to vi and this makes me very happy. (That is, it's now a vi chord and I remember it always being a I chord, which bothered me.)

First, thanks for identifying the title and composer.

Second, thanks for validating my memory: if you click on the Amazon "Listen!" link for track 3 on the item you linked to above, it's definitely the way I remember it: the second bar of the brass is a repetition of the I chord (with the inner voices swapped, but still a root-position I chord). And the way NBC has been playing it the past few weeks, it's a vi chord. (And on the reprise there's a lovely walking bass line.)
