A few weeks ago, the quickie binding that I had done on my latest siddur prototype started to give way, so I've temporarily stopped using it and switched to the Koren/Sacks siddur. And... I'm finding myself more distant from my prayers. I'm having a harder time maintaining kavanah and staying focused, I'm getting confused about silly things (like where to pause), I'm having trouble quickly jumping (e.g., tonight, from Amidah to the kedusha d'sidra before havdalah).

So... I'd better get going on the next (final?) round of updates so I can fabricate another siddur, and soon. Because I seem to have created something useful, at least to me. Maybe that will be a good project for the upcoming long weekend.

My prototype is basically a pile of loose papers surrounded by the cover. Every now and then (especially with a squirmy two-year-old in my arms) I use a shul siddur, but I still prefer Hiddur Tefillah. I for one am looking forward to the next version!
