I still wish the NY Times wouldn't use up valuable op-ed space for the delightful compound puzzles from the fine folks at Puzzability. Nevertheless, I did today's puzzle and it was fun. Spoilers )

Friday at work, I mused aloud that the NYT Friday and Saturday puzzles have given me more trouble than usual lately, and I was wondering if they were getting harder or if I was getting stupider. Then came Patrick Berry's puzzle in yesterday's Times, and I don't want to know anyone else's time because I broke 15 minutes on a Saturday and I don't want you to tell me that it was easy. :-)

And finally, a note on today's NYT diagramless. Spoiler )

  • Several light bulbs changed to CFs.
  • A/Cs out of the windows.
  • Classic Honeywell thermostat replaced with new digital Energy Star Honeywell thermostat. (Kudos to Honeywell for making it an extremely straightforward installation, even if my house's plaster walls didn't want to cooperate. They even provide preprinted stickers for marking the wires in the wall before removing the old thermostat's wallplate.)
  • Norton Antivirus upgrade rebates mailed. (Thanks to Staples for the free software.)
  • RSVP for the bar mitzvah of my first cousin once removed sent
  • Sukkah frame disassembled and stored
  • Garage straightened (prerequisite for storing sukkah frame)
  • [livejournal.com profile] introverte purged the basement
  • Four trash cans of leaves raked
  • Gutters cleaned
  • Much laundry done (folding will happen during the game)

First free Sunday in two months, spent wisely and effectively. Whoo-hoo!
