NYT puzzle production
Aug. 2nd, 2006 01:34 pmSpoiler free ;-)
I have a question for people who do the NYT in the paper... is it me, or have we started seeing some weird halftone effects this week? Has Will started providing "camera-ready copy" that's getting scanned in, or faxed, or some such? It's VERY distracting when the clues and the grid are shimmering....

Date: 2006-08-02 06:54 pm (UTC)I pulled out puzzles from last week. They're fine. And the other text and line art on the page is fine. But if you look closely at the edges of the letters and the lines of the grid, they are showing the same sort of pixellation that you get when you laser-print something that's supposed to be 90% grey instead of black.
