Many happy returns of the day

There seems to be an LJ tradition of blogging happy birthday messages to one's confreres.

That's not exactly my style.

So instead, I'd like to take a moment to thank mabfan for teaching me most of what I know about Gilbert & Sullivan, for being there at 7:05 every morning at the 75th Ave. E station (fourth car, first door), for being my sounding board through high school, for being part of the original MIT G&SP gang, for accompanying me on the post-collegiate journey towards increased observance, for being our best man when introverte and I got married, and for remaining a wonderful friend for over two decades.
